Job Description

Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) in Monaca, PA, minutes northwest of Pittsburgh and one of Pennsylvania’s 14 independent community colleges, invites applications for two executive leadership positions. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, CCBC encompasses 11 buildings on its 113-acre main campus. The Aviation Sciences Center, located at the Beaver County Airport, is home to CCBC’s nationally recognized Air Traffic Control program. Annual enrollment exceeds 3,500 credit students and an additional 3,000 non-credit students. CCBC is an Achieving the Dream Leader College and is embarking on a vision to grow its offerings and community engagement through partnerships and new program development. CCBC offers 71 degree, certificate and diploma programs and hundreds of Continuing Education and Workforce Development programs. A six-year project is underway to create innovative high school academies for students throughout southwestern Pennsylvania. The Aspen Institute recently named CCBC one of the 150 Best community colleges in America. Executive Vice President and Provost Reporting to the President, the Executive Vice President and Provost is the college’s Chief Academic and Operating Officer. Responsible for innovative leadership in support of a learning environment that values student achievement and degree completion, the Provost oversees all credit and non-credit instructional programs; serves as acting President in the absence of the President; provides leadership and support for all of the college’s operations, including strategic planning and a culture of assessment; works closely with deans, faculty, staff, students and others; and provides leadership in the research, planning, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of innovative programs and services. Requirements include an earned doctorate from a fully accredited institution and a minimum of five years of successful, progressive administrative leadership experience in postsecondary education, and a minimum of three years of postsecondary teaching experience. Community college experience is preferred. Vice President for Finance and Operations Reporting to the President and serving on the executive team, the Vice President for Finance and Operations is the college’s Chief Financial Officer. Specific areas of responsibility include: Business Office, Accounting, Purchasing and Inventory Control, Facilities and Grounds, Copy Center, Bookstore, Food Service, Security, and Mailroom. The Vice President designs, prepares, analyzes and presents college financial reports to the President, Board of Trustees, Foundation Board and other appropriate individuals and groups; coordinates and directs the preparation of the college budget and financial forecasts; leads and manages all financial and operational areas of the college; and oversees the submission of reports to local, state and federal agencies. Requirements include a Master’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field and a minimum of five years of progressive administrative experience, including financial and budget management responsibility, and at least three years of senior leadership experience. Community college experience is preferred.
