In this challenging role, you will support the Financial Affairs department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following:
-- Serves as Associate VP of Financial Affairs, may act in the absence of the VP for Finance. Participates in institutional strategic planning.
-- Plans, directs and administers the accounting function for the college including the associated information system to ensure compliance with Federal, State, local, GASB, GAAP and internal policies and procedures. Develop, implement and review departmental procedures and organizational internal controls. Ensure adequate documentation of all financial transactions, timely payments and receipt of funds.
-- Directs the grant accounting function. Manage personnel responsible for the preparation of reports to federal, state and other agencies for grants received. Assure the timely and accurate completion of all necessary paperwork. Oversee grants, work with agencies to resolve problems. Review the reconciliation of funding. Assure indirect costs are properly recovered.
-- Plan, manage, and develop all activities relating to the year-end closing process, preparation of financial statements, CAFR and audits. Keeps abreast of changes in internal and external reporting requirements. Serves as contact person with external auditors.
-- Plan, direct, manage, and coordinate the development of all institutional budgets. Monitor, forecast and control and advise senior management on budget issues. Insure that the college budget is implemented in a manner that will ensure the maximum usage of the college budgeting system.
-- Work with finance and IRM to improve the automated accounting system and all interfaces that impact the system.
-- Plans and directs activities of Business Office, Cashiers Office and collections department. Provide training, guidance and direction to financial staff.
-- Coordinates financial transactions relating to the Greenville Tech Foundation.
-- Performs other duties as assigned

A Master's degree in accounting, finance or related field and six (6) years of progressively responsible related experience directing professional accounting, auditing or finance employees. Experience in Higher Education business and finance operations preferred. Prefer CPA and may be substituted for master's degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in finance in higher education or state government, prefer CMA or CPA. Knowledge of GAAP and GASB. Experience in internal controls and financial statement preparation.
