Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) in Monaca, PA, minutes northwest of Pittsburgh and one of Pennsylvania’s 14 community colleges, invites applications for 10 full-time, tenure-track faculty positions. Appointments begin on August 19 for the Fall 2015 semester. The Reference Librarian assumes duties on July 1.
Founded in 1966 and preparing to celebrate its 50th anniversary, CCBC now encompasses 11 buildings on its 100-acre main campus in Monaca and two additional centers that provide cutting-edge training for regional job opportunities. The Aviation Sciences Center, located in Beaver County’s Chippewa Township, is home to CCBC’s nationally recognized Air Traffic Control and other aviation programs, and CCBC @ Southpointe in Washington County offers a growing array of credit and non-credit programs at the Southpointe Industrial Park in Canonsburg, PA. Annual enrollment exceeds 3,000 credit students and an additional 5,000 non-credit students.
CCBC is an Achieving the Dream Leader College and is embarking on a vision to grow its offerings and community engagement through partnerships and new program development. CCBC offers 71 degree, certificate and diploma programs and hundreds of Continuing Education and Workforce Development programs focused on personal enrichment and customized training, as well as seamless transfer to a growing number of baccalaureate and graduate programs through regional and national collaborations. Classes are taught in a vibrant learning environment that integrates state-of-the-art instructional technology into every classroom and laboratory.
The following assistant professor positions include a fall/spring teaching assignment with opportunities for overload and summer term appointments:
• Biology (2)
• Criminal Justice
• Pysch Nursing (2)
• Reference Librarian (non-instructional)
For the Aviation position, a minimum of 5 years as a Certified Professional Controller at a terminal Air Traffic Control facility required. FAA management/supervisory experience and Master’s degree preferred.
For all other positions, Master’s degree required and at least 5 years of experience in the respective discipline; teaching experience preferred.
