Dallas County Community College District invites applications and nominations for the position of President of Mountain View College.
The President is responsible for leading initiatives which contribute to the vibrancy, growth, and economic stability of Dallas County for future generations, with primary emphases in areas of student access and success, identification and implementation of academic and technical programming to support continuing education and workforce development, and community outreach to extend partnerships, expand resources and share capacity in support of current and future students.
Mountain View College is an open-access public community college that opened in 1970 as the second of seven separately accredited colleges of the Dallas County Community College District serving residents of southwest Dallas County, Texas. Its service-area is comprised of urban, suburban, and industrial communities that include the southwest quadrant of the city of Dallas, and the cities of Cedar Hill, Duncanville, and Grand Prairie." Mountain View College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the associate degree. The College is comprised of the Divisions of Science, Nursing, Arts/Humanities, PE and Engineering; Business, Computers, Mathematics & Technical Programs; and Communications & Social Sciences. Current enrollment is approximately 8,500 students.
The qualifications include an earned Master’s degree, a doctorate is preferred, a minimum of five years of management experience, including three years upper level administrative experience in a community college/higher education environment. Presidential experience is preferred. The successful applicant will demonstrate experience in teaching and/or student services in an academic environment with strong oral and written communications confirming the ability to effectively research, organize and persuade diverse audiences, internal and external to the college and system.
