Bachelor's degree in related field; master's degree preferred.
Position requires five to seven years work experience; management experience in a higher education financial aid department; abiilty to incorporate Financial Aid into the recruitment and retention strategies of the college; ability to use computers and knowledge of educational software to process financial aid; ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents; ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customer, regulatory agencies or members of the business community; ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format, and be able to effectively present information to administrators public groups and board of trustees; ability to manage multiple responsibilities; excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and customer-service skills; ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, composure and a customer-focused attitude while carrying out all job responsibilities; Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance and Pennsylvania Criminal Record Check Clearance at employee’s expense and Basic employment verification, national criminal database search and five panel drug screen at college’s expense. To qualify for this position, the applicant's previous work performance must have met or exceeded appropriate work standards.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
The Director/Financial Aid will lead a progressive and dynamic financial aid department in order to support and advance institutional efforts to increase student access and success. The Director will plan, organize and manage the operations and activities of the federal, state, locally and private funded financial aid, monitor and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, evaluation operations leading to continuous improvement and supervise and evaluate financial aid staff.
