Vice President for Instructional and Student Success
Kankakee Community College (KCC) invites inquiries and applications for the position of Vice President for Instructional and Student Success. KCC is located on a scenic 177-acre campus 60 miles south of Chicago and provides high quality transfer and career programs, adult education and literacy programs at multiple sites throughout its 1,600-square-mile district. The college enrolls more than 9,000 students annually through credit, and corporate & continuing education programs.
Serving as Chief Academic Officer, the VP has ultimate academic administrative responsibility and provides vision and senior leadership to programs and services for instruction, learning services, and workforce development. This person will directly supervise the areas of Instruction and Workforce Development, the Library, Adult Education, Continuing and Community Education, and Learning Assistance, in addition to all grants and services related to these areas.
Qualified candidates must possess: an earned doctorate from an accredited institution or show substantial progress toward the doctorate degree; a minimum of seven years of progressively successful educational administrative experience; community college experience at the dean’s level (or equivalent) or higher; be committed to the mission, vision, purpose, and core values of the college; a minimum of five years of college teaching experience preferably at the community college level; be familiar with assessment tools to measure quality improvement such as Noel Levitz, CCSSE, SSI; and be committed to utilizing data for informed decisions. Prior experience in contract interpretation and contract negotiations using Interest Based Bargaining is preferred.
