Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC), serving Somerset and Hunterdon County residents for Forty years, offers over 90 associate degrees and certificates, customized training and continuing education. Instructor – Computer Science, Tenure Track
RVCC is currently accepting applications for a full time, tenure-track faculty position in Computer Science in anticipation for Fall 2014. Initial salary will be based on the successful candidate's educational qualifications and professional experience. The College also offers an attractive employee benefits package.
Responsibilities included but not limited to:
*Teach Web Design and Development, Multimedia Communications, Mobile Development, and Game Design and Development courses and others as assigned.
*Assist the Department with Strategic and Tactical Planning for programs and courses.
*Commitment to the comprehensive mission of a community college.
*Commitment to the principles of a learning centered institution.
*Instruct courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs.
*Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing, utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods.
*Maintain currency in fields of expertise through self-study, membership in professional societies and attendance at professional conferences as appropriate.
*Obtain professional certifications in fields of expertise as appropriate.
*Regularly evaluate courses to ensure that learning outcomes and assessments are appropriate and effective.
*Review, evaluate, and recommend student learning materials.
*Provide access to students through posted office hours, electronic communications and other appropriate methods.
*Participate in college/departmental professional development activities.
*Serve on College-wide committees.
*Adhere to all College policies and procedures.
*Required Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related field is required.
*Preferred Additional Qualifications:
Ph. D. preferred.
College teaching experience strongly recommended.
