Job Title: Dean of Energy and Agriculture
Employment Classification: Management Exempt ~ Full-Time (Flexible schedule based needs of the College)
Location: Lakeshore Technical College ~ Cleveland Campus
The dean will provide leadership for instructional programming for the energy and agriculture programs in alignment with the vision, mission, values, and purposes of the organization. The dean will be responsible for advancing and integrating the energy and agricultural programs to meet the customer demands. The dean will facilitate strong industry alliances to understand and identify how best to align curriculum and training to meet industry requirements.
The dean will be responsible for supervising instructional departments, programs, and related staff; develop and initiate new activities, evaluate existing activities, and recommend adjustments. The dean shall have an understanding of the fundamentals of state and federal project development, implementation, and management.
Responsible for the oversight and coordination of instructional programming and curriculum
· Provide leadership to the development of new programming and integrating the energy and agricultural programs.
· Develop, futuristic programming in areas of nuclear energy, wind energy, renewable/sustainable energy, energy efficiency, sustainability and agribusiness.
· Provide leadership for the future growth and development of the College’s Environmental Campus.
· Manage areas of instructional programming and related staff.
· Ensure the development, modification, and documentation of the curriculum.
· Manage full-time, part-time and adjunct faculty workloads.
· Actively lead and support student academic assessment strategies, ensuring that student learning is assessed and documented.
· Serve as a division liaison to Student Services regarding program admissions, enrollment, and graduation, involving faculty as appropriate.
· Lead departments' program evaluation through the Quality Review Process (QRP) and accreditation processes.
Provide leadership in developing flexible program and delivery options
· Actively promote Workforce Solutions contract training delivery.
· Foster and coordinate the use of alternative delivery in divisional programming.
· Coordinate division transitions programming and projects for high school students (e.g., Youth Options, Youth Apprenticeship), in cooperation with related departments, and involving faculty as appropriate.
· Develop, coordinate, and oversee shared degree programs with other technical college districts and articulated programs with four-year colleges, as appropriate.
Grants, Partnership Development/Community
· Research, develop, administer and report federal grant opportunities and available cash incentives in areas of nuclear energy, wind energy, renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainability and agribusiness.
· Develop partnership and co-branding opportunities with individual businesses and community organizations.
· Represent LTC with statewide collaborations.
· Actively seek national and regional leadership roles on federal agency or industry based energy and agricultural advisory councils.
· Provide LTC leadership and participation in overarching umbrella activities for renewable energy and sustainability development.
· Organize and manage program advisory committees.
· Be an active advocate for LTC in the community.
· Be active in the college by serving on committees.
· Develop and implement an annual divisional plan.
· Develop, manage, and monitor division budgets.
· Conduct annual operational planning (prioritization, implementation and evaluation) in areas such as facilities, computer technology, equipment, etc.
· Develop projects, grants, and corporate partnerships to aid in program updates, modifications, and new program development.
· Supervision is provided to the staff and faculty within the Energy and Agriculture division.
· Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the division.
· Design position responsibilities, interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; supervise, mentor, and develop staff through the Employee Performance review; reward and discipline employees.
· Address staff and student issues in an effective and timely manner.
· Master’s degree in a related discipline with two years of teaching at the technical college level is required.
· Two years of recent related occupational experience outside the field of education.
· Must meet and maintain Wisconsin Technical College certification requirements.
· Must have technical expertise and knowledge across the broad spectrum of Energy and Agribusiness programs to ensure programs have sustainable depth and breadth.
· Three to five years of managerial/supervisory and educational leadership experience within the energy or agribusiness discipline.
· Curriculum development and student assessment experience, with emphasis on competency-based instruction.
· Commitment to student learning and student success.
· Planning and implementing experience of learning options through alternative forms of delivery.
· Maximize the use and application of technology for teaching and learning.
· Development and delivery experience of customized training programs for business/industry clients.
· Knowledge of state and local business community and the type of technical jobs needed.

Condition of Employment
· Employment conditional on completion of a Background Information Disclosure (BID) and the results acceptable to the College.
· Must be certifiable by the WTCS as an instructional supervisor.
