An earned doctorate degree from a regionally accredited institution is required. The successful candidate must have demonstrated success in community college-level teaching with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. This candidate should have an exemplary record of academic administrative leadership with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as well as the ability to plan, direct, and evaluate a complex operation. Demonstrated leadership and the demonstrated ability to solicit external funding via grants, gifts, and partnerships are also required.
Motlow State Community College seeks an accomplished and visionary academic and community leader who will report directly to the President. The Vice President for Academic Affairs will provide senior leadership in the development, assessment, budget, and oversight for all academic affairs initiatives of the college, providing high quality programs of study to the college’s student population, and performing other related duties as assigned.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The Vice President for Academic Affairs will plan, direct, and evaluate the agenda as prescribed by the Complete College Act of 2010. The Vice President will provide leadership, direction and policy formation for the development and implementation of successful academic programs and services that are responsive to student, service area, and college needs. This successful candidate will oversee the operations of academic affairs and the operations of the campuses located in Fayetteville, McMinnville, and Smyrna and will work collaboratively with the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at the Tennessee Board of Regents, the Vice President of Student Affairs, the Vice President for Business Affairs, the Vice President for Administrative Services and Information Technology, and the Executive Director of Human Resources in coordinating all academic policies, positions, assignments, academic offerings, academic calendars, and in initiating new programs.
