Frederick Community College, a premier student-centered learning college where students, faculty, and staff work together for student success seeks a dynamic individual to serve as the Associate Vice President for Learning and Dean of Professional Studies and Academic Partnerships.
Reporting directly to the Vice President for Learning (VPL), the Associate Vice President for Learning and Dean, Professional Studies and Academic Partnerships provides visionary leadership and effective coordination of the academic programs, personnel, services, and initiatives of Professional Studies and Academic Partnerships area, which encompasses the academic departments of Nursing, Computing and Business Technology (CBT), and Allied Health and Wellness (AHW).
The AVP works closely with employers and industry representatives to ensure close alignment of program outcomes and career preparation.
Working collegially and collaboratively with the department chairs, the AVP is responsible for the efficient and effective administration of the assigned areas, for ensuring high quality instructional offerings by all assigned departments, and for oversight of specific career education programs.
The AVP serves as a member of the Learning Leadership Council, the Senior Advisory group, and the President's Leadership Council working collaboratively to provide educational leadership and to achieve the College's and the area's goals and objectives.
The AVP provides administrative support to support Academic Program Review.
Master's degree [required].
Five years in higher education in an administrative or leadership role [required].
Earned doctorate [preferred].
Significant teaching experience; and administrative or leadership experience in the community college setting [preferred].
Experience in addressing issues relating to transfer articulation, career preparation, and education/ industry partnerships, to include innovative instructional strategies and online learning [preferred].
Basic understanding of community college governance, organizational structure, financing, and budgetary processes [preferred].
