AACC seeks a policy analyst to support the Association’s advocacy and research efforts.
The policy analyst must be familiar with and able to utilize federal, state and other data sources to help the Association respond quickly and authoritatively to proposed federal public policies and related higher education issues.
In addition to analyzing proposed federal legislative and regulatory policies, the Policy Analyst will help generate public policy proposals concerning community colleges and their students, with an emphasis on federal student financial assistance, workforce development, and related institutional policies. The analyst will present the community college perspective before a variety of audiences. Writing focused analytical pieces for public consumption is required.
Qualified candidates must have a Master’s Degree with a Ph.D. preferred, or equivalent professional experience, plus a minimum of 7 years of related, specialized experience. The successful candidate will be well versed in current higher education public policy issues and the data sources that inform those policies, be able to articulate the community college perspective in public settings, and write cogently. Qualified candidates must also be proficient in developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with a range of organizations and key constituents.
