The District Board of Trustees (Board) of Madison Area Technical College (Madison College; www.madisoncollege.edu), a thriving institution that serves nearly 38,000 students in south-central Wisconsin, invites nominations and applications for the position of President. Madison College seeks a dynamic and visionary student- and results-oriented President with exceptional professional, educational and personal values and standards.
Madison College, a technical and comprehensive community college, offers an extensive array of affordable and high-impact learning opportunities, including two-year associate degrees, liberal arts transfer, two-year technical diplomas, one-year technical diplomas, certificates and post baccalaureate certificates. Madison College also offers continuing and professional education, customized training and more. The institution serves a district that includes part or all of 12 counties and offers instruction through five campuses in Madison, four regional campuses, and several community outreach sites. The College operates independently as part of the Wisconsin Technical College System and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
The President is the chief executive officer of Madison College, responsible to the Board, for the overall administration of all institutional functions. He/she will create and lead a culture of continuous learning and improvement and guide the institution to successful outcomes with a focus on academic excellence, financial management, student development, strategic planning, shared governance and community partnerships. The President must appropriately represent, promote and connect Madison College to all of its diverse constituencies.
A minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible and relevant experience in postsecondary education leadership and management is required; however, distinguished leadership of other complex public or private sector enterprises that are comparable to college administration will be considered. Broad leadership expertise in administrative management, finance, strategic planning, resource development, diversity, collective bargaining/shared governance, innovation, open communication, and collaboration is essential. An earned terminal degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) preferred; Master’s degree or J.D. accepted.
