The Monroe County Community College Board of Trustees is seeking a visionary, student-success oriented, collaborative leader with an entrepreneurial spirit to unify the college and engage the community to be its fifth president.
Located in the most southeastern corner of Michigan with the state’s only commercial port on Lake Erie, Monroe County is supported by a diversified economy, serving as home to many industries and a mix of retail, agricultural and commercial businesses. Monroe County is characterized by urban and industrial development along its eastern shoreline and agriculture in its western sector.
MCCC enrolls 4,071 credit students and approximately another 4,000 students who participate in non-credit lifelong learning and customized training opportunities. The new $17-million, 60,000-square foot Career Technology Center, which is scheduled to open in the fall, will provide infrastructure to support state-of-the-art classrooms and lab space required to deliver instruction and skills necessary to secure high-growth, high-demand and high-paying jobs. The state of Michigan is financing half the cost of construction of the Career Technology Center. The college has committed to fund the other half through existing funds and a capital campaign in support of the facility.
