The Board of Trustees of the San Diego Community College District invites applications for the position of President, San Diego City College.
The successful candidate is expected to make a long-term commitment to the District and continue the development and implementation of a common vision developed through participatory/shared governance processes in the best interests of all students, faculty, and staff. The ideal candidate will be an innovative, energetic, and proven leader. The successful candidate must thoroughly understand the role of an urban, comprehensive community college within a large multi-college community college district and the dynamics of the communities it serves. The successful candidate must also have an extensive record of community involvement and understand and appreciate the importance of partnerships between the college and its local businesses, industries, and community organizations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university, AND,
- One year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrative assignment; AND,
- Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff.
