West Shore Community College is seeking a dynamic individual with distinguished records of academic and administrative experience, and evidence of excellent leadership including interpersonal, collaborative decision-making, and communication skills.
The Vice President of Academic and Student Services is a new position that creates the opportunity to unify the arts and sciences with the occupational area, as well as academic and student services. This is one of two Vice President positions that report directly to the President. The VP will be expected to help build a “culture of evidence” at the college. West Shore Community College is located in a beautiful “four-season” recreational area near the shore of Lake Michigan and serves a multicounty district. Despite Michigan’s economic woes, West Shore is uniquely positioned with beautiful facilities; up-to-date technology; and no debt.
West Shore Community College offers a comprehensive general education curricula designed to meet the needs of students desiring to transfer to senior institutions, and many occupational programs are available for students desiring to pursue immediate employment. West Shore’s fall head count is approximately 1400.
It is desirable that the successful candidate will have potential to serve as a community college president sometime in the future.
