The Dean of Counseling, Advising and Transfer Center reports to the Vice President of Student Development and is responsible for providing administrative oversight of the Counseling, Advising and Transfer Center and the Disability Services office. The Dean provides vision and leadership to support the development of programs and practices to address the holistic academic, career and personal development needs of students.
The Dean will work with student development staff as well as the academic deans and other educational affairs staff on academic advisement, transfer/articulation and retention issues; support AQIP projects as appropriate; and maintain positive and cooperative relations between the Counseling, Advisement and Transfer Center, Disability Services office and other college departments and units. The Dean also serves as the statewide Transfer Coordinator for the College.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or Human Services.
- Minimum of seven (7) years related experience.
- Work experience providing personal counseling to adults for at least one (1) year.
- At least one (1) year of managerial and supervisory work experience in higher education.
- Prior work experience with students of various social, economic, racial, ethnic, gender and disability backgrounds.
