DESCRIPTION: The Dean of Students, under the direction of the AVPSS serves as an advocate for students on campus. The Dean of Students represents the President, the Student Affairs division and the interest of students on all matters relating to student services. The work involves the supervision, design, implementation and evaluation of all student service related programs including Student Activities, Student Support Service Centers, Career Placement Orientation, Evening Services, Health Services, Counseling, Advisement, Publications, Student Government, Veterans Affairs, Bilingual Student Services, Disabled Student Services, Grants and Special programs, and International Student Services. Under the direction of the Executive Vice President of Student Affairs, the incumbent supervises specialists in the various sections.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in Student Personnel Services, Higher Education, Educational Administration or Education and five years’ of responsible experience in Student Service areas at the College Director level.
