Eastfield College, one of seven Dallas County Community Colleges, opened its doors in 1970 and has provided learning opportunities for thousands of Dallas County residents and students from neighboring counties. Eastfield serves the southeast corridor of Dallas County in Mesquite, one of the largest suburban communities and 20 miles southeast of downtown Dallas. Eastfield College is currently accepting applications for several Executive Dean positions. Principal duties and responsibilities and minimum educational and skill requirements are listed for the following: Executive Dean, Arts, Language and Literature Executive Dean, Science Executive Dean, College Readiness Th e completed application should include the application form, vita or resume, an original copy of all transcripts, and a lett er of no more than three pages describing how the candidate fi ts the needs of the position. Responsible for the supervision of various programs, including the development of new programs, curricula, syllabi, teaching assignments, room assignments and the evaluation of the eff ectiveness of new and existing courses, instructors, programs, or services. Participates in the selection, training, and evaluation of full-time employees through the recruitment, interview and recommendation process. Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all full-time/part-time employees and other contractual staff members assigned to area. May instruct classes, arrange for substitutes, or conduct classes for ill/absent instructors. Develops implements and monitors budget for all services within the assigned area. REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree is required. Four years of experience is required, including: 1) administrative leadership in a community college, higher education institution, and/or related environment, 2) demonstrated experience in educational program and/or curriculum design and development, and 3) a minimum of two years of teaching in higher education in one of the disciplines off ered by the division (preferred). Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintains records, generate reports and communicate with others. Proven ability to deal eff ectively with individuals and teams from diverse backgrounds, funding agency officials and business/industry/community leaders. Demonstrated experience at working successfully in a multicultural, diverse student and college environment.
