Job Description

Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) invites applications and nominations for the position of Executive Director of the FTCC Foundation.  The Executive Director will lead and enhance the philanthropic and planned giving efforts of the Foundation in support of the college and its programs and activities with the goal of providing scholarships and other resources for students and promoting the academic environment of the College. 

 

Highlights of FTCC’s performance include:

  • FTCC is the fourth largest community college in the North Carolina Community College System and was first established in 1963;
  • The College operates with an approximately $90 million annual budget;
  • FTCC has been honored for three years among the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that do the most to assist America’s veterans as students;
  • FTCC boasts passing rates of 100 percent for more than a decade on certification exams in Dental Hygiene and Pharmacy Technology, as well as other programs;
  • As one of 340 colleges and universities participating in the Disney College Program, FTCC ranks second in terms of student internship opportunities offered;
  • FTCC maintains an established partnership with the United States Army Special Warfare Center and School that enables soldiers to earn an Associate Degree while enrolled in the Civil Affairs, Military Information Support Operations, and Special Forces qualification courses.


Candidate Profile

 

Required Qualifications

  • An earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; master’s degree preferred.
  • Five years of increasing responsibility, including some management experience, in non-profit organization(s) working with asset development, operating revenue development and planned giving programs;
  • A proven track record of successful fundraising; and
  • The ability to work independently and in coordination with senior administrators, staff, board members and volunteers.

Desired Traits & Characteristics

  • Significant experience in managing a development program including working with annual funds, major gift cultivation and solicitation, and board/volunteer involvement in fundraising;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capacity to reach out to constituents and build meaningful relationships with them on behalf of the College;
  • Project management skills and the capacity to work independently;
  • High level of personal and professional integrity;
  • Capacity to involve and motivate others in joint and shared efforts;
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with non-profit fundraising database software; and
  • Intelligence, decisiveness, energy, leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to involve and motivate others in joint and shared efforts.
