Provides leadership and management of the Eastern Campus Health Careers and Sciences Division with responsibility for program and facility expansion. Programs include Massotherapy, Plant Science Technology, Health Information Management, Sports and Exercise Studies, Pharmacy Technology, Emergency Medical Technology, Medical Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapy Assistant and the biological and physical sciences.
Additional responsibilities include leading faculty in the development of new Health Careers programs in response to regional health care needs; oversight of the new Health Careers and Sciences building project. Supports the Academic Dean in the successful deployment of strategic initiatives on the Campus. Responsible for the development, review, and evaluation of academic plans, curriculum, programs, course schedules and budgets within the division. Recruits, selects, supervises, and evaluates faculty and division/departmental staff. Responsible for facilitating accreditation visits and supervising project managers. Ensures the communication of plans, activities and expectations for faculty and staff at various levels within the campus and within the division. Handles student issues.
Collaborates with other academic area team members, including external advisory members, as part of the campus-based academic leadership team in order to keep programs relevant and current. Engages in college-wide coordination of planning, resource allocation, quality assurance and various program initiatives. Participates on College-wide Health team with counterparts.
Minimum of three years demonstrated experience managing a division or multiple departments in an area of health careers or science within a college or industry setting
Experience in supervising faculty and/or staff in daily divisional operations, budget management, and program coordination
Demonstrated leadership skills
Demonstrated commitment to student success and to enhancing teaching and learning
Ability to work collaboratively with peers across disciplines, functional units, campuses, and external partners
