Vice Chancellor, Resource and Economic Development
The Los Rios Community College District is a two-year public college district serving the greater Sacramento region. Our district includes American River, Cosumnes River, Folsom Lake and Sacramento City colleges; major centers in Placerville, Davis, West Sacramento, downtown Sacramento, Natomas and Rancho Cordova; and special services for business and industry.
Our colleges offer transfer education - students complete freshman and sophomore years and transfer to a four-year college or university - and AA/AS degrees and certificates in over 70 career fields. The District's 2,400 square mile service area includes Sacramento and El Dorado counties and parts of Yolo, Placer, and Solano counties. Approximately 83,000 students are enrolled in our colleges.
The District Office houses a number of district-wide services. These include the Chancellor's Office, Board Room, Legal Services, Business Services, Human Resources, Institutional Research, Resource Development and Information Technology. Other district-wide services which can be found at various locations around the community are the District Police Department, Facilities Management Department and the Business and Economic Development Center. Each department strives for the highest quality in all programs, services, and activities for our communities and staff.

It also provides the successful candidate an opportunity to help lead the District's Economic and Workforce Development operation.
The Vice Chancellor, Resource and Economic Development, performs duties under the general direction of the Chancellor and works in coordination with the College Presidents and District administrators to develop and implement policies, procedures and services in the areas of grant development, private/corporate resource development, and economic development.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
-- Acts as advisor to the Chancellor on matters pertaining to resource and economic development.
-- Serves as the President of the Los Rios Foundation.
-- Works directly with the College Presidents to support their philanthropic efforts at the college level.
-- Provides coordination, development and support in the following resource development areas:
-- College and district-wide foundation governance
-- District Foundation Board of Directors recruitment and selection
-- Corporate and private fundraising
-- Annual campaign
-- Planned giving
-- Private, corporate and foundation grant support
-- Supports Federal and State grants
-- Plans the annual goals for the Los Rios Foundation
-- Develops the annual report for the College and District Foundations
. Provides coordination, development and support in the following economic development areas:
-- Workforce and Economic Development
-- Center of Excellence
-- Center for International Trade and Development
-- GreenForce and HealthForce
-- Regional Health Information and Technology
-- Small Business Development Center
-- Training Source
-- Workplace Learning Resource Center
-- Develops and recommends budgets for areas of responsibility.
-- Evaluates staff as required in the District policies and regulations.
-- Represents the District on appropriate District, College, State, and other committees.
-- Assists in developing policies and regulations related to areas of responsibility.
-- Responsible for development and timely submission of Federal, State and District reports related to areas of responsibility.
-- Other duties as assigned by the Chancellor.
-- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends when necessary.
-- Ability to work with faculty, administration and staff in the management and coordination of matters related to resource development and economic development;
-- Ability to develop cooperative and productive working relationships with members of the community, business, government and educational entities;
-- Knowledge of resource development and economic development programs and processes;
-- Ability to plan, organize and supervise the work of staff.
1. Have a master's degree from an accredited institution completed by March 1, 2012; a doctorate is preferred.
2. Have five years of progressively responsible administrative experience in an institution of higher education, or other significant management experience outside education which justifies a waiver of requirement.
3. Have experience in fund raising and economic development.
4. Have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
5. Experience in a community college is preferred.
6. Experience in grant solicitation and management is preferred.

**Note: Individuals who have completed colleges or university course work at an institution in a country other than the United States must obtain a complete evaluation of foreign transcripts, degrees and other relevant documents. A foreign transcript evaluation is required any time foreign course work is used to meet minimum qualifications even if the foreign transcript has been accepted by a college or university in the United States.

Job Offer Requirements: Offers of employment are contingent upon successful clearance from a criminal background check, freedom from tuberculosis, and proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States prior to the first day of work. For permanent and adjunct faculty positions, when education is a requirement for the position, official academic transcripts from the accredited college/university must be submitted within 60 days of hire.
The District may select additional qualified candidates should unexpected vacancies or needs occur during this recruitment/selection process.
Administrative positions may be subject to the District's Conflict of Interest Code, and a financial disclosure statement is required within thirty (30) days following appointment to the position.
Contingent on funding and eligibility, successful candidates selected for an interview may be eligible to apply for partial reimbursement of travel expenses (for Administrative/Executive and Faculty positions).

Additional stipend for an earned doctorate from an accredited university.
