2013 Convention Welcome

Welcome to the 93rd American Association of Community Colleges Annual Conference where the emphasis will be on “Bridging to Excellence:  Reimagining the community college.”  San Francisco’s iconic bridges remind us of the opportunities and possibilities bridges can link us to, if we would only imagine. What a wonderful place to recognize that, in these both challenging and exciting times for community colleges.

The work of AACC ‘s 21st-Century Commission on the Future of Community Colleges continues as implementation teams interpret and strategize. At this conference, as you participate with colleagues from community colleges, business and industry, state and federal agencies, remember that reimagining our colleges is about linking the excellence of our institutions to the success of our students.

From keynote speakers to general and focus sessions and roundtables, the goal is to engage you in thought and discussion.  The conference is as much about networking as it is participating in sessions.  Make as many new friends, choose as many mentors and consultants, and form as many partnerships as your time and energy allow.

Do not sit back and relax: actively participate, enjoy and learn!
