Getting to the Hotel 

Taxi

Following is the estimated fare from the airport to the Grand Hyatt San Antonio hotel. Estimate is for travel one way. All cabs are metered, so depending on traffic and time of day fares could be higher.

Airport Shuttle

  • GO Airport Shuttle is San Antonio International Airport's authorized and single shared-ride shuttle service. Shuttles depart from 7 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. daily to downtown hotels every 15 minutes. Passengers may purchase tickets at the airport's baggage claim area. Tickets are $19.00 per person to downtown hotels or $34.00 for a round trip ticket.

Complimentary Shuttle Service from Hotels to Convention Center

Shuttles are scheduled to support event programing and drop off at the Center or Grand Hyatt Hotel.  They pick up from the following Hotels: Westin Riverwalk, Hotel Contessa, Hyatt Regency, Grand Hyatt and Omni La Mansion del Rio.

Expected pick up is 20-30 minutes. Please note that times may change based on road closures due to Fiesta. Please consult with uniformed shuttle managers posted at each hotel.

No shuttles are offered from the Marriot Riverwalk Hotel or the Hilton Palacio Del Rio.

Getting Around Town

The E – New Free Downtown Circulator

Arriving March 28th, The E is VIA's new Downtown circulator, providing an easy and convenient way to explore entertainment venues, dining, and cultural sites. The E is free! It will operate Tuesday-Saturday, 6:00 pm-Midnight, and will run every 10 minutes. This route provides frequent service from many of downtown’s best restaurants and hotels to entertainment venues and the Henry B. González Convention Center. Passengers can board at any VIA stop with The E logo. Click here for a route map and VIA stop locations.

Downtown Travel 

If you're in town for a few days and want to take advantage of the Streetcar, your best deal is to buy a One Day Pass for $4.00.  Order your pass online or stop by the Downtown Information Center or one of the outlet centers. When you get in town, pick up a streetcar brochure in your hotel lobby.  All three streetcar routes connect you to the Henry B. González Convention Center. 

Free Mobile App

 “Go VIA VIA” is the official VIA Metropolitan Transit free mobile app.  This app is a convenient and time saving tool for VIA bus riders with iPhone and Android smartphones.  Riders can view transit stops in the area and get real time arrivals for routes.  Or just set an alert and the app will let you know when your bus is minutes away.  You can also use the app to plan your trip, view routes and look up schedules.  “Go VIA VIA” provides easy connections to VIA’s online store, rider alerts, Facebook page and Twitter feeds.  If you are riding VIA you have to “Go VIA VIA”.  Click here for more information.

River Taxi

The River Taxi stops at 39 locations on the River Walk. Purchase a one-way pass for $5, 24-hour pass for $10 or a 3-day pass, $25.  Click here to see the river taxi route.   Look for the river cruiser with the black and yellow checkered flag or black and red checkered flag (prices vary).  For more information, click here.

Travel within the downtown area, there is a minimum charge of $5.  Two - six people ride for the price of one.

The Sightseer Special Bus

The Sightseer Special (Bus 7)  runs daily between the city's favorite sites.  You can travel to them all for one price.  Locations visited by the Sightseer Special include: River Walk Streetcar Station, Henry B. González Convention Center, Alamo, San Antonio Museum of Art, Japanese Tea Garden, Brackenridge Park, San Antonio Zoo, Trinity University, University of Incarnate Word, Witte Museum and San Antonio Botanical Garden.

Bike-Share Program

San Antonio B-Cycle is an automated bike sharing system intended for short trips and quick adventures.  B-stations are distributed in downtown San Antonio in highly visible and trafficked areas.  Ride a B-Cycle and check it back in to any B-Station within 30 minutes.  The clock starts when you undock.  Dock and undock at any B-station before 30 minutes expire to reset your clock.  Visit SanAntonio.bcycle.com to purchase an annual membership or 7-day pass.
