In research, there is a significant lag time that occurs between data collection and presentation due to the sheer volume of raw information that is collected and analyzed. Much of the research cited here is conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics in the Department of Education. NCES annually gathers information from every post-secondary institution in the country. All data presented here are the most current available.
