Community Colleges Help Bridge Rural Economic Divide -  This article highlights outcomes from the Leadership Institute of the Rural Community College Initiative (RCCI) sponsored by the Ford Foundation.  Community College Times, February 5, 2002.

Stand Up for Rural America - The Congressional Rural Caucus has agreed to sponsor the May 7 National Stand Up for Rural America Day Gala reception to premiere a documentary on the challenges facing rural communities and how community developers are meeting them.

Organizations:

Rural Policy Research Institute (RUPRI) - conducts policy-relevant research to assist policymakers and citizens in understanding the rural impacts of public policies and programs. RUPRI scientists are involved in an ongoing series of research projects, analyzing specific policy initiatives with high impact in rural areas and improving methodology for policy impact assessment.

Congressional Rural Caucus - a bipartisan coalition of Members of Congress who are committed to helping agricultural and rural America build stronger, more prosperous futures for current and future generations of Americans living on the family farms and ranches and in rural communities.

Rural Community College Initiative (RCCI) - aims to help community colleges in specific distressed rural areas to expand access to postsecondary education and help foster regional economic development.  Supported by the Ford Foundation.
