  • University transfer is the most popular major at Vol State with 44 % of students in 2014-2015. But there are also many career entry A.A.S degrees and certificates, especially in Health Sciences. The overall first-time licensing exam pass rate for Health Sciences programs was 82% in 2014. The job placement rate for Health Sciences was 89.9% in 2012.
  • The Tennessee Higher Education Commission announced the designation of Vol State as one of Tennessee’s first “VETS Campuses,” recognizing the institution’s efforts toward increasing the educational attainment of student veterans.
  • Campus-wide walking programs, a fitness center, a tobacco-free campus, and access to filtered water are just a few of the reasons that Vol State has been selected for the Healthier Tennessee Workplace designation from the Governor’s Foundation for Health and Wellness.
  • Sumner County Middle College High School students earn high school and college degrees at the same time by taking classes on the Vol State campus in Gallatin.
