- Schenectady County Community College and Niskayuna School District established an international student program partnership – the first of its kind in the state of New York. The new partnership will allow international students who have completed one year of full-time study at the High School to continue their education for a second or third year through SCCC courses taught at the high school.
- The college has partnered with local brewer, Shmaltz, and the county workforce board to start a brewing training course – the only one of its kind in the Capital Region.
- For the past three years, the College has offered a Casino and Gaming management program – training local residents for a new Casino scheduled to open in Schenectady in 2017. The College is serving as the leading trainer for the casino expecting to create 1,200 jobs in the area.
- The College is a well-respected institution in the education and training of students in both the Music profession and the Culinary Arts and Hospitality industries.
