Summary

To meet the immediate need for trained wind technicians, Columbia Gorge Community College initiated a pilot non-credit, six-month training project to turn out entry-level workers for jobs at Acciona Energy and other firms. After the pilot project, 22 of the 24 students were in jobs paying $20-$24/hour.  In fall 2008, CGCC phased in its renewable energy technology program. Employers supported the development of the curriculum.
