POSITION -- Since 2001, Founding President/CEO of Gateway Community and Technical College, a public institution serving the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region with three campuses on numerous centers in Covington, Florence, and Edgewood Kentucky.

PREVIOUS -- Served as President/CEO of Hazard Community and Technical College (1985 – 2001); dean of Academic and Student Affairs, North Country Community College (New York); division chair, Social Sciences and Applied Technologies, Mississippi County Community College (now Arkansas Northeastern College); instructor, Psychology and Mental Health Technology, Jackson State Community College (Tennessee).

AFFILIATIONS -- Currently, serves on the following boards: AACC Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and Chair of Committee on Public Policy and Governmental Relations; AACC 21st Century Commission Implementation Team 6, Public Policy and Advocacy; Greater Cincinnati United Way; Vision 2015 Regional Stewardship Council; Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce; Greater Cincinnati Partners for Workforce Competitiveness; Life Learning Center (chair of non-profit); past affiliations: member and chair AACC President’s Academy Executive Committee; Chair, Community Colleges of Appalachia; Chair, Southern Association of Community, Junior and Technical Colleges.

EDUCATION -- Ph.D. Higher Education, Southern Illinois University; M.A. Psychology, Middle Tennessee State University; A.B. Psychology, Catawba College.

OTHER -- Relevant Awards:  Partnership Award, Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce 2009; Lifetime Achievement Award, Eastern Kentucky Leadership Conference 2002; Shirley B. Gordon Award from Phi Theta Kappa, 2000; Dave Pierce Leadership Award, North Carolina State University 1997.
