Before ALABAMA made it big, Jeff Cook’s electronics training from Alabama Technical College (now part of Gadsden State Community College) was almost as important to the band as his guitar playing and singing. He was the guy with the toolbox connecting speakers and microphones to the soundboard before the shows. "In the early days I kept the equipment running," Cook said.
Since the release of My Home’s in Alabama, ALABAMA has had 42 songs make it to the top of the charts. The country music group known for its tight harmonies has had more No. 1 hits than any performer in any music genre.
The group has won 2 Grammy Awards and captured the top awards of the Country Music Association, the Academy of Country Music and other music industry associations numerous times. The Recording Industry Association of America recently named ALABAMA Country Group of the Century.
