Diversity is a core value and a daily call to action at Highline Community College.
“At Highline, diversity is who we are,” said President Jack Bermingham.
With nearly 70% students of color, Highline is one of the most racially/ ethnically diverse higher education institutions in Washington. The college developed a cultural diversity policy to affirm its commitment to providing a safe learning environment and to the elimination of discrimination. Highline also updated its mission statement to reflect its commitment to diversity and globalism.
Through leadership training and educational programming, “Highline stands out as a college which progressively promotes and advances diversity,” said Jeremiah Kamau, an international student who graduated from the college in 2013.
