Community colleges educate a diverse student population with a wide array of needs. The Advancing Diversity Award recognizes colleges that are dedicated to increasing diversity and advocating for social equity on their campuses and in the community.

Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) is promoting diversity and inclusion, and cultural and global awareness through its Department of Multiculturalism and Inclusion (M&I)—the only one of its kind in Kentucky.

Columbia State Community College (Tennessee)

Columbia State Community College has always had a commitment to access and diversity, but in recent years, its integrated campus program has made the college an institution that challenges stereotypes and fosters an appreciation of human differences.

Highline Community College (Washington)

With nearly 70% students of color, Highline is one of the most racially/ethnically diverse higher education institutions in Washington. The college developed a cultural diversity policy to affirm its commitment to providing a safe learning environment and to the elimination of discrimination. Highline also updated its mission statement to reflect its commitment to diversity and globalism.
